About the Founder

Have you ever felt like you’re all alone, raising your kiddo(s) with no help what-so-ever? Or maybe you are doing it all alone. Motherhood loneliness is real! I am speaking from first-hand experience.

I used to be a social. I used to be able to go out whenever I wanted and with whomever I wanted. I also had my life together. I was a planner. I started a business and it was starting to grow. But all that changed as soon as I became a mother. Motherhood turned this social, outgoing, organized gal into someone who became disconnected, angry, and anxious majority of the day. I became too tired physically and emotionally to return texts and calls to friends. I started declining to attend social events because I didn’t want to worry about asking help with childcare or spend time and money on myself to look presentable to go out. I didn’t want to leave my house with my child; especially, with the state of the World these days (you know – the pandemic). Other than leaving my house for work and for essentials like groceries, I interacted with no one else other than clients, my online network, my toddler and my husband.

It quickly became very lonely, and I thought I would get used to it. I told myself to keep putting on a smile and work through it. On the back end of things, I my anxiety was building, and I started having mental and emotional breakdowns; something that I had never experienced or done before I became a mother.

The saving grace for me is that I’m a talker. I started going through my contact list and selected two friends who may understand me. I started talking with them, a few other mothers in my business network and a few of my clients and I realized I was not alone. Matter of fact, there were so many other moms who were experiencing the same phenomenon of “pandemic motherhood.” It didn’t matter if we were entrepreneurs, stay at home moms, or working moms, we all wished that there was a resource out there, a village so to speak, of mothers who supported each other is an essential that’s missing in our current society.

Many of the other moms and I thought, “how wonderful would it be if we can all share what we know and have a central online resource at our fingertips?” That is why MUMSEE: A Modern Mother’s Village was created. The primary goal for MUMSEE is to sever as the modern mothers’ village (father’s are welcome too). MUMSEE shall be a modern place to connect moms with other moms to help build support for one another – just as it would’ve been in the villages of our ancestors. The secondary goal is to collect and present tried-and-true resources for parents and families. MUMSEE’s website will serve as a collection of local businesses that are either mother owned/operated or has been tried and backed by local moms. This way, all moms in the local area will have the resources they need at their fingertips without having to comb through multiple suggestions and tags in local social media groups and online search engine reviews. MUMSEE will BE that trusted local mommy resource. The MUMSEE in-person summit will give these local businesses an opportunity to present the value of their services to local moms.
